Instructor
Jeremy James Alkire
I'm a Computer Information Technology major with 17 years of programming experience. I've been coding since I was 9 years old and continue to do so on a daily basis academically, professionally, and recreationally. I built this website from the ground up, so I can teach you to build sites with similar features!
I have actively administrated and developed code for my own websites and subdomains for the last six years. I've additionally developed desktop and mobile applications, browser games, and even browser extensions. I routinely dedicate my free time to studying emerging technologies, and my drive for teaching myself is rivaled only by my passion for teaching others.
I've worked professionally as a coding instructor at various bootcamps and franchises, and have taught students of nearly all ages. I've taught children between the ages of 6 and 14 for over a year, and I taught adults and college students for five. During my time as an instructor I've truly developed a passion for teaching. Seeing the skills of my students grow and watching their absolute joy as they run their code and see the product of their own work has been a genuine privilege.
Programming is daunting to many, and I enjoy helping my students to not only feel more confident about programming, but to develop the same love for it that I've had since I was a child. Learning to code is priceless. It arms you with one of the most powerful, versatile, and profitable creative outlets in the world.
It is never time wasted. : )
The languages I teach most frequently are the following: Java, C#, Python, Scratch, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. However, I also teach basic terminal commands and simple CRUD (create, read, update, and delete) SQL statements.
Additionally, I teach students to use various third party frameworks and libraries, such as Bootstrap 4, Hibernate, Turtle, JSON / GSON, jQuery, JUnit, and more.
